Our values
Appropriateness
This is the most crucial element in our policy. When translating a brochure or website contents, for example, we adapt the text to meet the industry-specific standards in the target culture. If a text is translated only to inform the client, or their supplier, of the contents, we provide a less polished, and thus less expensive, for-information translation.
Punctuality
We strictly adhere to the deadlines agreed with the client and always deliver as promised. We never say ”tomorrow” if we know that our schedules or the scope of the work will not allow it. We also immediately contact the client if we become aware of any unavoidable, unexpected delays.
Quality
One would think that quality is a ”hygiene factor” in translation but, unfortunately, this is not always the case. Especially when a translation is sourced through a long subcontracting chain, the translator who actually does the work may not be given enough information or time to produce a quality translation. This may also create a so-called moral hazard, meaning that the translator is too far from the end client and is paid too little to care about quality.
To ensure fair pay and that no information is lost or distorted on the way, our policy is that the client is in direct contact with the translator or there is a maximum of one intermediary, known to both parties.
Correct language
Translators are known for being painstakingly particular about the correct use of language. We, too, strive to always produce translations that are grammatically correct and as fluent as possible in the target language. We are also happy to proofread the typeset text – with no extra charge – to ensure that the text still reads smoothly and correctly with no spelling mistakes or other typographical errors.
